Monday is the official start of the week for most people. It is also the rentry for most into the harsh realities of life. Here in the good ol' U. S. A. that has various meanings, but in many countries life is altogether different.
There are countries where Sunday is a day of harsh realities as people risk their lives to worship in the name of Jesus. Unfortunately Monday is just as dangerous because if their allegiance to Christ is known, they can't be sure if anyone is closing in on them. If their identity in Christ is hidden, then they never know when their secret will be revealed. The penalties are varied with the highlight being one of death. (We struggle with giving our "all" in Western countries while in other countries they may have to do so literally!)
There isn't much we can do about this but pray. Pray for protection, strength, grace, supply, and deliverance for our persecuted brothers and sisters. And pray for our deliverance from such future persecution for with such I'm afraid our churches would be a bit on the empty side. Especially if persecution began on Super Bowl Sunday.
